About me

My name is Ragnheiður, but some call me Ragga. I am born and raised in Iceland where I have spent most of my life so far. The nickname Ragga Rokk is one that I think perfectly captures my alter ego, or my most confident self. Rokk (the Icelandic word for the music genre rock) is something a peer of mine started calling me back in junior college. At the time, it felt like the furthest thing from how I saw myself, but it became a powerful reminder that how I perceive myself isn’t always how others do—and that I’m often my own worst critic. I’ve embraced this name to remind me to step into my boldest self, and have even gone so far as to design a logo inspired by it.

I’m a passionate tailor with a love for sewing, fashion, and sustainability. My journey began as a teenager, upcycling thrifted finds and altering clothes I already owned. What started as a hobby ended up growing into a my greatest passion, leading me to pursue formal training in tailoring.

I studied at Tækniskólinn (Reykjavík Technical College), where I honed my skills and earned my journeyman’s degree. To further expand my expertise, I spent four months in Berlin as an intern at the werkstatt of Theaterkunst GmbH, where I immersed myself in garment construction and gained hands-on experience in a professional setting. After graduating, I enrolled in the School of Master Craftsmanship, where I learned the ins and outs of running a business and training apprentices in my trade. My next step is to gain more work experience, which will allow me to earn my master tailor certificate.

My work is driven by a commitment to quality, sustainability, and timeless design. I believe in creating garments that are not only beautiful but also built to last, challenging the fast-fashion mindset and promoting a more thoughtful approach to clothing consumption. Whether it’s crafting a bespoke piece, upcycling pre-loved garments, or designing something entirely new, I pour my heart into every detail.

Through this portfolio, I invite you to explore my work and the stories behind each piece. If you share my passion for sustainable fashion or are looking for a tailor who values craftsmanship and creativity, I’d love to connect with you.
